Photographer Dietmar Busse (under the scarf) opened his Manhattan studio again for (delighted) visitors this weekend. Last year he showed his amazing black and white portraits (here) while this years work does not stop there, he paints on his photographs with ink creating his own world ... I liked Jutta Benzenberg's work a lot when I discovered her on facebook. On my continuing photo journey through The Rockaways (Queens, NY) I hooked up with my old friend and rap artist I.G.Off in Far Rockaway. We had worked together when German filmaker Harald Rumpf shot HIP HOP: A Tale From the Hood, a film about I.G. and his then rap partner Hazardous. This was 10 years ago. This is not Afghanistan nor Iraq nor any other warzone. This is Kentucky. The insane bi-annual Knob Creek Machine Gun Show near Luisville is the largest of its kind in North America. At three shooting ranges weapons of all kinds are fired for three long days, especially high-powered automatic rifles and machine guns.
