I went through 'old' pictures recently and decided to publish them here once in a while under 'back then'; they are all images from the beginning of my professional photography career, which started (very slowly !!) in the early nineties. This series about the fabulous Drag Queens and Transvestites in New York Clubs started as an assignment from German Playboy magazine, which sent me out to shoot "Underground New York', and as it happens to me with many good stories, I got hooked and continued to shoot in Clubs like the old Copacabana, Roxy and The Pyramid for weeks longer than I was getting paid for.
