Alexander Echo

New York based artist Alexander Echo loves to write. But while writers fill books with their art, he copies their writing onto one single canvas, layer after layer, until a beautiful 'painting' develops, making the original text unreadable in the process - but it's spirit remains.

When I was taking these images at his studio in Brooklyn, a frame was filled with Edward Albee's 'Seascape' (a play in two acts), while his wife Samanta was reading it to him. The results of this technique are stunning, more of his work at www.alexechoart.com
